Zoey Frank Art Talk with Arts Writer Sara Lee Burd
October 8, 10am to Noon

NASHVILLE— Rising star in the art world Zoey Frank will give an art talk at Haynes Galleries October 8 beginning at 10am. The talk will be led by arts writer Sara Lee Burd. Frank and Burd will discuss her latest pieces which are on view in Frank’s new solo exhibition at Haynes Galleries, “Zoey Frank: Connections & Changes” opening October 7. Light refreshments will be served. The talk on October 8, as well as the opening reception the evening of October 7, are free and open to the public.

During the talk, Frank and Burd will discuss how her work has progressed from her first solo show at Haynes Galleries two years ago. They will also talk about Frank’s sources of inspiration for her new pieces, her travels, and her plans for future paintings. Guests are welcome to ask questions about Frank's new work and her blossoming career.

For the new paintings she’s created over the past two years Frank has explored human interaction and elements of change. She has incorporated new elements, resulting in images that compel viewers to look longer. Her narrative paintings, which are usually based on specific events from her own life, are open enough for viewers to apply their own experiences to Frank’s characters. The images are bright, youthful and full of personality.

Frank’s new paintings are a clear indication of her technical gifts and bright future as she explores new ideologies. “Zoey Frank: Connections & Changes” and the art talk are a perfect chance for guests to soak it all in and experience the byproduct of Frank’s skill.

Frank has received many honors during her young career including acclaim from several magazines and an in-depth interview with the arts website Painting Perceptions. She spent the summer of 2016 in Italy as the artist-in-residence at the Jerusalem Studio School in the city of Civita Castellana as the winner of their International Residency Scholarship.
