T.J. Cunningham to give Painting Demonstration Saturday, October 24 from 10am to Noon
NASHVILLE— Artists and art lovers are in for a special morning at Haynes Galleries. Immensely-talented emerging artist T.J. Cunningham will give a painting demonstration at the Realist gallery on the Music Row Roundabout on October 24th, from 10am to Noon.
During the demonstration, Cunningham will paint a portrait— perhaps his favorite kind of painting— from a live model and explain his painting process as he works. He will describe how he decides on a pose, the general atmosphere, the color palette, and more. Cunningham will also gladly take questions from guests during his demonstration.
Cunningham’s artistic education is centered on the great Realists of the 19th and 20th centuries including Sargent and Bouguereau, He has an eye for strong, compelling compositions regardless of subject matter. His painterly portraits are both technically strong and emotionally insightful, making the viewer feel as though he knows the subject personally. He reveals the grace in every scene.
In just a few short years, he’s earned many honors from the Portrait Society of America, Southwest Art magazine, and more. He continues to work at his craft, honing his skill and focusing his vision for his future work. Cunningham’s work can currently be seen during “Joseph McGurl, Karen Blackwood, T.J. Cunningham, Marc Dalessio & Friends” at Haynes Galleries.
